Hi girls! This is one of the most requested topics I get, so I'm really happy to be sharing it with you. My skincare routine definitely isn't one that is too complicated - I like to keep it nice and easy!

Remember, everyone has different skin types and what works great for me may not be for you. Here are a few tips on how I like to keep my skin healthy:

1. Remove that Make-Up

I don't like to wear more makeup and foundation than I have to, and it's really only for photoshoots or big nights out that I would wear a lot of it. However, it's CRUCIAL to remove your make-up before going to bed and let your skin breathe. Your skin renews itself while you sleep, and if you leave makeup on, it can lead to clogged pores and breakouts.

I like to remove my make-up with a little bit of coconut oil on a cotton pad, and a gentle swipe! Leave it on for about 5 minutes and then wash it all off with some warm water and your cleanser.

2. Diet, diet, diet!

It's so important to understand that healthy skin comes from the inside, and it is often the part that most people neglect the most. I've found that my skin has become significantly healthier with a serious glow since cutting out all processed foods and soft drink from my life, and upping my vegetable intake. Another important thing to do is to make sure you are drinking plenty of water and staying hydrated to get that glow!

3. Wash your Bed Sheets Regularly

This one is actually SO important when you think about how much time we spend in our beds! All the oils and dirt from the day gets transferred over to your sheets and pillows. This all eventually builds up and ends up blocking your skin and can cause breakouts. I like to wash my bed sheets, covers and pillow cases on a weekly basis, and I feel like this makes a big difference in how clear my skin is.

4. Moisturize!

I can't emphasise how important this is - even if you have oily skin! As you all probably already know, coconut oil is LIFE for me. I usually switch it up between coconut oil, rosehip oil or a moisturiser at least twice a day. I also spend a lot of time outside, so I always make sure my face is protected with a high SPF sunscreen to prevent premature aging.

Important side note: Coconut oil is an occlusive moisturizer (i.e it traps moisture beneath the skin), and it can aggravate acne prone skin and clog pores. Always spot test before applying to your whole face!

5. Treat Yourself

There is always - ALWAYS - time to treat your skin to a facial! Your skin naturally regenerates every 28 days, but this can slow down as you get older. A little pamper session at home can get rid of build-up on your skin and repair your skin's moisture barrier.

4. Supplement with Vitamins

Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body, and it's an essential to regenerate muscles, ligaments, tendons, bones and... skin! Collagen keeps our skin elastic, and as our body ages, we produce less and less collagen which causes the onset of wrinkles.

Loss of collagen can also cause brittle hair and nails, joint pain, and other issues in your body’s connective tissues. Supplementation has been shown as a way to reduce the effects of collagen reduction that occurs as a natural part of the aging process.

I take Skin Tight by EHPlabs everyday to make sure my skin gets all the essential vitamins and nutrients it needs, but doesnt get from my diet. Skin Tight contains a bio-active source called TruMarine Collagen, and in addition to Coenzyme Q10, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin A work together to prevent and repair skin damage, prevent signs of aging and improve firmness and elasticity, as well as keep your skin moist and prevent it from getting dry and flaky. My all-in-one secret weapon!

Those are the basics of my skincare routine! I like to keep things simple as it's important to have a routine that you are able to carry out everyday and create into a habit that you can take anywhere.
