With so many exercises out there, it can be hard to choose which ones to prioritize. But no need to stress, our Queen Katya has made it easy for you! Here are her fav exercises to add to your routine to feeling lean and sculpted this summer.
Romanian Deadlift (RDL)
Y’all know this is a staple in all WBK FIT programs, and it’s for a good reason. RDLs done with dumbbells or a barbell is a great compound exercise to develop both strength and muscle through your glutes and hamstrings. It’s a ‘hip hinge’ movement, which means you’ll be focusing on pushing your hips back with a slight bend in the knees for greater glute activation.
Side Plank Hip Dips
If you want a snatched waist, then don’t skip this exercise! Side Plank Hip Dips are a great isolation exercise for targeting the abs, in particular, the obliques (which are your side ab muscles). The ‘hip dip’ element of the exercise requires greater activation of the obliques as they contract whilst performing each rep. Do this exercise regularly and trust us, you’ll have a tight and toned core in no time.
Neutral Grip Pull Downs
Repeat after me - don’t neglect your upper body! Training your upper body is essential for sculpting your upper back and arms, which can actually help create an hourglass figure. Neutral Grip Pull Downs targets the lats, shoulders and biceps which will help give your upper body more lean definition. Not only this, but your upper body strength will increase, which will also help you lift heavier on your lower bod days!
Walking Lunges are one of the best unilateral (single leg) exercises out there. Lunges work both strength, stability and coordination. This exercise is great at building strength and shape of your quads and glutes. It’s the ultimate lower body exercises to sculpt legs with sexy muscle definition.
Whilst this exercise is tough, it will help transform your core, shoulders and cardiovascular fitness. Mountain Climbers work your abs whilst incorporating both upper and lower body conditioning. What’s also great about this exercise, is that it’s done with bodyweight only, making it easy to perform anywhere. Add this to the end of your workouts and your body will thank you.
